Competition Time!!!!

Ok, the Cake Liberation Front is 1 in a few weeks time. To celebrate this and the fact it's MoFo and the theme is Outreach here's our competition.

To win a set of our brand new badges (7 in total!), a set of postcards and an apron just leave a comment saying what your favourite cake recipe is that you like to feed to non-vegans. The competition is open to entrants worldwide and a winner will be randomly picked at the end of the month. Good luck!

  1. To be truthful, I don't think I've ever actually made a cake! But I make some killer muffins, which are kind of like cake, only smaller. They're chocolate-chip pumpkin muffins, adapted from a recipe that used to be on the PPK.

Cool giveaway! Good luck to all!

  4. I've baking chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling and frosting for years and it's always a success with everybody, including non-vegans. I've used different recipes along these years, but in the last three years I'm using the one from Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World!

  5. I love the badges! As for my favourite vegan cake? That's a hard one! I thiiiink it has to be the Raspberry Blackout Cake from Vegan With A Vengeance. It's so decadent that people often have a hard time believing it's vegan!

  6. My favourite cake to feed people is my raw raspberry cheesecake. I gave some to mummy dearest and she had no idea it was raw, let alone vegan. She loved it! Hope your fantastic and happy mofo xx

  14. Definitely the Lemon Cake from How it all Vegan. It's a one bowl easy to make cake but so delicious and light. Even my omnivore father has devoured it and ranks it as one of his favourites and he didn't even know it was vegan! It's so lovely of you to offer prizes. Thank you also for commenting on my blog. I appreciate the connection & friendship. xox

  18. My failsafe is an old-fashioned chocolate cake recipe (of wartime origins when eggs and dairy were scarce, I believe) that just uses oil, vinegar, baking powder and water to make it rise - and it's so easy to make too! You literally just bung everything in a bowl, mix it up and bake. Works every time, makes a massive cake and is brilliant filled with raspberry jam and topped with ganache. No one ever suspects.

  19. I make these chocolate and peanut butter cupcakes that everyone loses their mind over. (Chocolate cupcakes with peanutbutter frosting inside and on top with a bit of chocolate ganache on top of all of it.) That never fails to get the non-vegans thinking.

  20. Honestly, I am still searching for the perfect cake recipe. But, one of my standards is an old zucchini cake recipe that I veganized years ago - I usually make it into cupcakes for any potlucks, events, etc. It is super tasty, no one dares complain about the lack of eggs or anything, and it also makes a sneak attack of a serving of zucchini! :)

  21. I love simple golden vanilla cakes with a fluffy buttercream and topped with whole fresh berries.

  22. I almost just said "Mac and Cheesecake!" having just eaten waayy too much mac and cheese. But no, that would be disgusting. I'm going to go with the classic key lime cheesecake. I guess a cheesecake is more like a pie than a cake, but it has the word 'cake' in it, no? Anyway, this recipe is super-yum: http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=14375.10;wap2

  23. I can't lie, it's gotta be the fudgy wudgy blueberry brownies (the same as the ones I took to the last CLF meetup!)- first time I made them was to refuel a couple of dozen middle-aged and mostly male mountain bikers, none of whom were vegan but half of them got the recipe from me afterwards!
