In The Suburbs ...
South Manchester has some really nice suburbs where independent businesses still manage to thrive. Today I got the bus over to Didsbury with my friend Susan. We had a mooch round the charity shops before heading to the Art of Tea for lunch. They have a couple of vegan sandwiches on the menu and offer soya milk, sadly no cakes though I always ask!. I had an avocado, hummus and rocket sandwich on lovely granary bread with a soy cappucino. It's a laid back little cafe full of mis-matched crockery and furniture with a second hand bookshop and picture framers in the back and regularly changing art on the walls.

After that we headed over the road to the Finders Keepers craft and vintage fair at Emmanuel Church. Got a few treats. Stripey Star earrings from Woodchip Boutique and a fab bunting necklace and Scotty dog broach from Sunday Girl. The Scotty was a lovely surprise gift from Susan. The afternoon was finished up at the Thirsty Scholar with tea and cakes and a Manchester Vegan Society meet up.
